I’m Connected!!

We now have a phone that works and internet and TV (which makes Ned very happy).

The 2 pods that held all our stuff are now empty and ready to be picked up. I’ve started ordering furniture and have the kitchen pretty well usable. Every room has boxes and boxes. That’s ok, the furniture isn’t going to be here for a bit. Besides, we mostly sit out on the porch and catch a breeze.

Ned arrived and it was 90+ degrees and he immediately went out and bought 2 air conditioners. Bit of a change from Santa Cruz!

I love it! We have the nicest neighbors. People have been dropping by to say hey. In fact, I’ve met more people in the past couple of weeks than I did in the 3 years we lived at our old house. And what’s really wonderful is that no one holds being from CA against us. They’re just glad for us that we got out. It would surprise the folks back in CA to know that most people around here don’t give a hoot about what Californians think. Heh!

The dogs are having so much fun exploring all the new smells and sounds and the cats survived their cross country journey ~ they were even happy to see the dogs by the time they arrived.

Well, I certainly have a lot of catching up to do in the blogsphere. I’m hoping to get to visiting ya’ll before too long. In the mean time, here’s the link to my photos of the cross country adventure:

Leaving Santa Cruz

I’ll be back soon – time to go do something with those boxes and look at more furniture.

Going to be another hot one today.

I loved your travel pics. Glad that you are in your new setting. I know what it feels like to shake the California dust off…it’s a GREAT feeling, although we did it over 28 years ago. Have missed your dailies, you keep me informed of what’s happening out there.
It appears #1 son won’t be home for Christmas but we are hoping for the middle of January…says it sure is HOT over there and air conditioning only makes it tolerable. At least you are in the same time zone as your daughter…enjoy.

Laura ~ sure hope that son of yours makes it home in Jan!!
Give him a great big hug from me when he is home.

FG ~ I am happy! What a difference being back in America makes – lol! I haven’t seen so many US flags in on county since I left the east coast so many years ago.

dyst ~ You’ve hit it right on the head ~ I am home. The house feels so friendly and the people are just super. Haven’t heard an anti-America word yet.

Laurie ~ isn’t Joey something? he was so terribly abused the first 6 months of his life (that you couldn’t hold a broom or a mop around him and you had to tell him it was ok to eat his own dinner) but has come around to be such a very special little furry family member.
